Describe a challenge (or set of challenges) you faced in planning for your sequence.

Just figuring out which animation technique that would best fit the part and how to do the certain part.

How did you meet the challenge?
I just took a minute and brainstormed to figure out which technique would best fit. then i decided how i was going to animate the part and went and looked through magazines and news papers and cut out the certain visual i needed

Describe your rationale for animating what you animated, and for using the method (stop frame vs cut paper vs handdrawn vs rotoscope etc) you chose.

I chose cut paper animation because i felt it would best represent the segment of the story i was given and it gave kind of a comedic feel.

What was the best part of the project? The worst?

The best part of this project was thinking of a story to use for the whole thing and just hearing some of the stories people had to say. I really didnt think there was a worst part overall it was a really fun project

I Remember

I remember getting my first car the excitement i had the night before we went to pick it up, i couldn't sleep at all. I remember that day and pacing around my room waiting for the guy, from craiglist, to call and tell us he was home. I remember the drive home with the car and how excited i was to show all my friends my first car. I remember getting it home and asking my dad if i could drive to my friends to show them but he said no, only because the turn signals didnt work and the tittle had not been transfered yet. I remember ordering my stereo and how much of a pain it was to instal, I also remember the rush i had when i finally had put in everything i wanted into my car, the new stereo, the subwoofers, and the blue neon light. I remember the disappointment when i had to take the car into the shop and didnt get it back for 5 days and had to pay $700. I will always remember my first car...

Criteria: Group Movie Project

Describe your role in the production of the class movie. How did your contribution make things more efficient? How did you help make the movie better? What specific contributions did you make? Did you go above and beyond, or simply show up? Be honest.

In our class production i was responsible for the roll of one of the vietnam LARPers. My contribution made things more efficient because i had a lot of the props we needed and they were available everyday for us to use. I helped make the movie better by contributing ideas and props. specifically i contributed a lot of my military props which i think really helped improve the film. I think i was pretty involved during this film and helped out a lot.

Describe one or more things you learned about the writing process that you did not know before working on this project.

One more thing i learned while working on this project was how in depth you need to go while writing to scenes/script. Last year for media arts one i just had an idea in my head and would just start filming, without any written ideas, after awhile id just get confused on what i was trying to do. Now i understand the process it takes. I will use these skills on my future movies.

Evaluation
Individual Contribution to Pre-Production Excellent    |    Good     |    Average    |     Poor

Individual Contribution to Production Excellent    |    Good     |    Average    |     Poor

Individual Contribution to Post-Production Excellent    |    Good     |    Average    |     Poor

Describe one or more things you learned about the production (filming) process that you did not know before working on this project.

One thing i learned about the filming process is that you should always take different angles of the same shot. you do this because you might not like the angle you had actually planned out and might decide to use another one. now if you had taken other shots you can just throw that in there but if you did'nt then you would have to go back and reshoot and that would take up a lot of time.
Describe one or more things you learned about the post-production (editing, sound, etc.) process that you did not know before working on this project.

Something i learned about the post production is that it takes more work to put the film together, and make it flow, then it actually does to film the whole thing.

Are you satisfied with the final product? Why or why not? Be honest.

I am very satisfied with the final production. i think everyone worked hard and everyone was really into it and was happy with the way it turned out

Suggest one improvement for next year’s class. What could I do to make it easier/better/more informative/more fun?

I think its good the way it is.

What is Creativity?

What is creativity? Everyone has their own opinion and view on what creativity is but most people are going to have the same base line, or idea of what creativity is. Everyone is creative but some people maybe be more creative then others. Creativity is thinking abstractly, taking a small idea and blowing it up into something big! Or just simply trying something no one has ever done before.

Every person is creative but some people are more creative than others. Those are usually the people that think out of the box or think abstractly. Thinking abstractly also requires you to listen to what people have to say about what your doing. When writing a book, play, or filming a movie, people are going to give you new suggestions or ideas and if your willing to take in those ideas and think on them it could hatch a new idea in your head.

When doing anything in art creativity is your number one friend and helps you turn an idea into a master piece. Creativity is something everyone has but not something everyone is gifted at.
